Community Service Drive

Dear Families,

Thank you all so much for your support and donations last week for our Community Service Drive!  The Community Service Drive was a huge success and so many students from our class helped make that happen. Our students learned a lot about helping to care for our community, and that we can make such a big difference if we all work together!

If you and your child would like to donate and did not a chance last week, there is still an opportunity. The canned food drive goes until this Friday. Students can bring in non-perishable goods and turn into the bins in the MPR. (No glass containers please!) Also, our school is collecting new toys for our sister school in Richmond. Please leave the toys packaged but not gift-wrapped. The toys can be turned into a collection box in the office.

Thank you again for helping to take care of our community and spread our message of caring for others.

Warmly,

Live Oak Teachers

Centers

Centers will begin October 17.  Please sign up here. Students work and learn in small group activities under the guidance of an adult. We welcome parent volunteers for Centers. You must complete Be a Mentor clearance in order to volunteer for Centers.

Did You Know?

Our Ed Fund provides the following for each classroom:

1) Paraeducator. Our Kinder para supports each student in the class. 100% of the salary is provided by Ed Fund.

2) Librarian. We visit the library each week. A large portion of her salary is provided by Ed Fund.

3) Classroom Supplies. The district does not supply ANYTHING except math workbooks and some curriculum. Paper, crayons, glue, pencils, etc. are all provided by the Live Oak Ed Fund.

4) Classroom Materials. Levelled readers, storybooks, manipulatives, science materials, tools and games are provided by the Live Oak Ed Fund. The district does not supply us with these materials.

5) Music. We have vocal music each week. The teacher's salary is completely provided by Ed Fund.

6) Technology. We have iPads and other tech tools (including my teacher laptop!) only from Ed Fund purchases.

The donations that the Ed Fund collects at registration and throughout the year are not for extras - they are for essentials. Thank you for supporting our Live Oak Ed Fund and our school.
